ALASKA
SALTWATER FLY FISHING

ROCKFISH + SALMON

FULL DAY CHARTER

Available: May 15 - September 30

Fly fish for rockfish and salmon in Seward Alaska’s Resurrection Bay and beyond. With plentiful populations of resident rockfish, strong returns of Chinook/King Salmon (May-July) and Coho/King Salmon (July-September), along with short runs to productive fishing areas this trip offers exciting salt water fly fishing opportunities all season long.

We target rockfish, salmon, and ling cod with streamers and surface poppers using 9-10 weight fly rods with floating, intermediate, and full sinking lines. Depending on weather and tidal conditions fly fishing is done while drifting or while anchored over structure. We typically target each species individually and run between productive fishing areas to chase the bite.

If you are up for a new and exciting fly fishing challenge we invite you to contact us and learn more about the last frontier in saltwater fly fishing.

TRIP PLANNING

FAQ’s About Our Saltwater Fly Fishing Trips

+ How can I book a trip?

The easiest way to book a trip is to email us or call 907-362-7780. We typically respond to messages in the evening once we are off the water. Thank you for your patience!

+ Do I need to book the entire boat?

We prefer groups that buy the boat for the day as it's easier to manage angler expectation and the understanding that the Alaska saltwater fly fishing game is, often times, a team effort and that a successful day is not measured by a single anglers success but by the collective success of the boat working as a unit. That said, if we have interest from multiple parties for the same date we will combine groups on a case-by-case basis to fill the boat and run the trip. Please contact us to discuss details and availability.

+ Do I need fly fishing experience?

Having some basic fly fishing fundementals under your belt is great, but it is not necessary. Our team of professional guides are great instructors and will teach you our unique Alaska-style saltwater flyfishing techniques.

+ What do you provide on your trips?

  • Comfortable, fast, and safe boats with marine bathrooms
  • Professional and experienced captains and guides
  • High quality fly rods, reels, lines and flies specific to our trips
  • Coffee and hot water on the boat
  • Fish filleting

+ What do I need to bring?

Fishing License: Be sure to purchase and bring a Alaska Fishing License valid for the date(s) of your trip.

Food and Beverages: Please bring your own lunch, snacks, and beverages for the day. We provide coffee and hot water on our boats for guests.

Rain Gear and Warm Layers: Our weather in Alaska is variable and often changes throughout the day. We highly recommend you bring full rain gear (jacket and pants), warm layers, and rubber boots (or water resistent shoes).

Miscellaneous Items: Sunglasses, sunscreen, and camera. If you are prone to seasickness it's a good idea to take and bring along motion sickness medication, just in case.

+ Do I need a fishing license?

All residents, age 18 or older, and non residents, age 16 or older, must purchase and possess a sport fishing license to participate in our trips. Licenses are available in resident annual and nonresident 1-day, 3-day, 7-day, 14-day, and annual. You can purchase licences in the Seward Harbor at The Fish House.

+ When is the best time to come fishing?

With such a plentiful variety of sportfish available in our nutrient-rich waters we have great fishing options all season long. Fly fishing for Rockfish is available the entire season. Halibut is best early season from May to July when they are in shallow water, King salmon arrive in numbers mid-May through June and Silver salmon are best mid-July through August.

+ Do you offer lodging?

We recommend our guests stay at Pacific Heights Lodging or any of the great lodging options in Seward.

+ What is your weather & cancellation policy?

Weather Policy: If the weather and seas are too rough for us to safely and productively fish we reserve the right to cancel the trip. In this event we will issue a full refund for the amount of the charter, we are not responsible for additional expenses incurred for transportation, lodging, meals, etc.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be issued when cancellation is received via email or in writing no later than 14 days prior to trip date. For cancellations within 14 days of trip date, we will issue a full refund IF we are able to refill the cancelled date.
